There are summer camp pictures at the bottom of the blog. Thank you Mr. Gene for taking the pictures and sharing. I will change them out each week.
Last week we had a meeting on Friday for the final merit badge work and ranks. Only one boy scout attended and a few adult members - that's not good. It's time for everyone to put boy scout meetings back in their calendars and also always let the Scoutmaster and the SPL know if you are not able to make the meetings. The Scoutmaster had his agenda of things to discuss so he'll tell you about it later.

We have not heard back from all boy scouts if they are attending the Court of Honor. We need you to let me know so everyone can plan the best they can. Some church guests have let me know they are coming, so please be ready to show them our best troop possible.

After the Court of Honor we will be having regular meetings again on Thursdays at 6:30 PM.

It's been a great summer, but now it's back to school and scouting.

A SCOUT IS REVERENT - RELIGIOUS KNOT

Religious Emblems for Boy Scouts,Varsity Scouts,Venturers, and Explorers

(For information go to: http://www.usscouts.org/, Advancement, Religious)

"A Scout is Reverent." All Scouts show this by being faithful in their duty to God. Some go further and give special service. This can qualify them for a religious emblem. Such an emblem is not a Scouting award. It is conferred on a Scout by his religious leader. Each faith has its own requirements for earning its emblem. Listed on the web link are the BOY SCOUT and VARSITY SCOUT emblems and where to find out about them. Before writing or visiting your local council service center, check with your religious leader.
(Unless indicated otherwise, awards listed may be earned by both Boy Scouts and Varsity Scouts.) Older Boy Scouts of Varsity Scout age (over 14), Venturers, and Sea Scouts (and in some cases, Explorers) are eligible for any awards that Varsity Scouts may earn.

PRAY FOR OUR FAMILIES

Sometimes we all go through hardships and losses. Please pray for our families and friends.
