Joshua Proctor - Eagle Project Successfully Completed

Congratulations to Joshua Proctor on completing his Eagle Project last Saturday, November 7, 2009.  United Holy Trinity Methodist Church benefited from the project as it was specifically intended to do so.  The project, which was to re-stripe the main church parking lot, was organized and planned by both Joshua and his father, David Proctor, for close to a year. A job well done!

E-mailed 11/11/09 - Recharter process underway

Hello Everyone,

The Troop's '09-'10 Recharter process has begun and will close on November 20. The recharter process means that it is time to re-register your Scout and Adult Volunteers for the next 12 months. If you are a current Adult Volunteer, this is the time to re-evaluate your position and make changes to another position if you like. Committee Members are especially asked to re-evalaute your roles as constant contact, commitment and response time to committee issues, board of review sessions and to the Committee Chairman are essential.

Specific details, including dollar amounts, will go out either by e-mail or in person at this Friday night's meeting. The payment schedule does not appear to have changed in regards to Recharter Fees, Boy's Life Costs and Troop Fees. Please be prepared to pay your fees as soon as possible. If you cannot attend the meeting in order to make the payments, please contact Tina Nichols to make arrangments to have the payments in before November 20.
I apologize for not having the dollar amounts at this time. Tina, Roger and I are working on ensuring that the payment schedule has not changed before publishing it.
Personal checks may be made out to Troop 512.

Thank you,

Veronica Tijerina

A SCOUT IS REVERENT - RELIGIOUS KNOT

Religious Emblems for Boy Scouts,Varsity Scouts,Venturers, and Explorers

(For information go to: http://www.usscouts.org/, Advancement, Religious)

"A Scout is Reverent." All Scouts show this by being faithful in their duty to God. Some go further and give special service. This can qualify them for a religious emblem. Such an emblem is not a Scouting award. It is conferred on a Scout by his religious leader. Each faith has its own requirements for earning its emblem. Listed on the web link are the BOY SCOUT and VARSITY SCOUT emblems and where to find out about them. Before writing or visiting your local council service center, check with your religious leader.
(Unless indicated otherwise, awards listed may be earned by both Boy Scouts and Varsity Scouts.) Older Boy Scouts of Varsity Scout age (over 14), Venturers, and Sea Scouts (and in some cases, Explorers) are eligible for any awards that Varsity Scouts may earn.
