Hey Scouters!

Congratulations on a successful Scout Fair Fundraiser and Booth Participation.  Thank you All for pulling together and helping out in all areas including reaching to meet your sales goals, making posters/banners/etc..for the booth, helping set up the booth and/or tearing down and so much more!  You all worked as a team to make this a great event!  Each and every one of you makes a difference, both youth and adults,..thank you for all of  your contributions!

Be sure to attend your meetings and stay in touch.  Remember, the most effective method of staying up to date on news and events is by going to your meetings.  The blog and e-mails only do so much.

Be prepared for meetings!  Always be in uniform, take your handbook, have your calendar on hand and be ready for anything because anything and everything always happens.  Oh...and be on time!

April has been great so far.  Can't wait for May!

Think and consider the power of God.

To the Parish of Holy Trinity United Methodist Church and Troop Parents,

This year, our Troop celebrates 38 years of Scouting within the parish of Holy Trinity Methodist Church.  The church is also celebrating 40 years of scouting participation all together.  We would like to thank Holy Trinity for allowing us to meet and gather here every week.  We would also like to thank the parents of the scouts for bringing their boys to the meetings on time and regularly.  We also want to thank Greg Carr, Holy Trinty UMM member, for his un-ending support of Scouting!

Congratulations to all the Scouts on their recent awards at the Spring Court of Honor.  Your merit badges and various awards clearly indicate your commitment to persevering  until your goals are met and that you are always working hard to improve yourself and become a better citizen and scout.  Keep up the good work!

2010

Happy New Year Boy Scouts of Troop 512,

Welcome to 2010!  We hope to see you all at the next Scout meeting and actively participating and serving throughout the next charter year and on forth!  We have great plans for you, but it's YOU that needs to be there to be part of it!

Remember that as part of your Boy Scout commitments, you should be attending Scout meetings on a weekly basis, participating and serving in/on projects with your fellow Troop Scouts and Leaders and set a good example through actions as well as words.  It's not all about camping, right?!  You are part of a Boy-Led Unit and should therefore be in regular contact with your fellow scouts and scout leaders, especially in meetings.  When is the last time you contacted your Senior Patrol Leader?  We have the potential to rock the Scouting world with our unit and we're gonna do it!  Our Scouts may be young, but they're lean and mean...ready to do it all...and one day before you know it, it will be time to begin the Eagle Path.  This is not anything new of course as you hear a version of "the speech" almost weekly in your meetings and who can forget that special meeting a few months ago concerning attendance, participation and "walking-the-walk - not just talking-the-talk" and the ever-so-popular "YOU are the Scout - not your parents!"...But it is a new year and so let's begin!

A SCOUT IS REVERENT - RELIGIOUS KNOT

Religious Emblems for Boy Scouts,Varsity Scouts,Venturers, and Explorers

(For information go to: http://www.usscouts.org/, Advancement, Religious)

"A Scout is Reverent." All Scouts show this by being faithful in their duty to God. Some go further and give special service. This can qualify them for a religious emblem. Such an emblem is not a Scouting award. It is conferred on a Scout by his religious leader. Each faith has its own requirements for earning its emblem. Listed on the web link are the BOY SCOUT and VARSITY SCOUT emblems and where to find out about them. Before writing or visiting your local council service center, check with your religious leader.
(Unless indicated otherwise, awards listed may be earned by both Boy Scouts and Varsity Scouts.) Older Boy Scouts of Varsity Scout age (over 14), Venturers, and Sea Scouts (and in some cases, Explorers) are eligible for any awards that Varsity Scouts may earn.
