Hi Troop 512,
This is a reminder that the Troop now meets on Friday nights so you're free tomorrow night. Yay!
Notes:
* Be sure to welcome Daniel Toohey, and his family, the next time you see them. Daniel has officially joined our troop. Please add his dad's e-mail to your troop address book. wadelandry@hotmail.com
* Isaac called and/or e-mailed everyone last Monday to get confirmations for the September 18-20 camping trip. If you have not returned the call, please do so right away. The reservation fee is waiting to be sent out!
* For those attending the camping trip, the final payment is due by this Friday night. $12/person. Tina will not be on site so I will collect the payments for her.
* Tina and Roger have been updating Scout Accounts. Everything is now up to date. If you have any Treasury questions or receipts, please contact Tina directly. On that note, Tina will have a Scout Account Statement prepared for each Scout this Friday night. Some Scouts have not completed paying their $50 fee that went into effect last year. We are asking that this please be completed in full by the end of this month. If you need us to work with you on this, you must contact Tina directly as soon as possible.
* The meeting with Pastor Cortinas went very well last night. The Fellowship Hall is booked so often that it is not feasible to make that the permanent Troop Meeting Room. Instead, Room # 5 is available and somewhat removed from the Cub Scout area. We'll try it out and see how it works out for everyone.
Have a blessed day! See you all on Friday night.
Boy Scouts Troop 512 is part of the Raven District in the Sam Houston Area Council, BSA. Few Boy Scout troops have experienced the longevity of Troop 512. We would like to thank our Charter Organization, Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, for allowing us a place to host our meetings and safely store our Scout Troop trailer and all our Troop equipment. We appreciate their support for these many years. They've been there for us from our beginning back in 1970.
SCOUT OATH
On my honor I will do my best To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

A SCOUT IS REVERENT - RELIGIOUS KNOT
Religious Emblems for Boy Scouts,Varsity Scouts,Venturers, and Explorers
(For information go to: http://www.usscouts.org/, Advancement, Religious)
"A Scout is Reverent." All Scouts show this by being faithful in their duty to God. Some go further and give special service. This can qualify them for a religious emblem. Such an emblem is not a Scouting award. It is conferred on a Scout by his religious leader. Each faith has its own requirements for earning its emblem. Listed on the web link are the BOY SCOUT and VARSITY SCOUT emblems and where to find out about them. Before writing or visiting your local council service center, check with your religious leader.
(Unless indicated otherwise, awards listed may be earned by both Boy Scouts and Varsity Scouts.) Older Boy Scouts of Varsity Scout age (over 14), Venturers, and Sea Scouts (and in some cases, Explorers) are eligible for any awards that Varsity Scouts may earn.
